Every occasion should be a celebration and Newcastle’s Pudding Lady believes every celebration needs pudding, because pudding is not just for Christmas.

The smell of fresh produce

Journey north of Sydney and east of the Great Dividing Range to discover the city of Newcastle, Australia. It is here, surrounded by the lush green pastures of the Hunter Region and nestled amongst the award-winning vineyards of the Hunter Valley, that our puddings are hand crafted.

Known for its exotic Australian wines and artisan food, the local region flourishes with rich heritage at every curve of the road and lush rainforests to wander.  Here the humid days of summer and the brisk winter nights help produce the mineral-rich soil growing fresh plump fruit. While to the east, gentle ocean breezes create the salt-sprayed grass our local cows eat year-round, producing uncommonly rich, sweet butter that we mix into our unique recipes.  At the Pudding Lady, we like to think there’s a little bit of the Hunter Valley to be experienced in each of our hand-crafted products.

Bursting with Australian vine ripened fruits, creamy butter, sweet sun kissed oranges, finely milled flour, distilled Australian spirits, farm fresh eggs, and exotic spices from across the globe. The enjoyment of every one of our puddings is an occasion to savour a little longer.

A sight worth waiting for

Some things are worth waiting for, like unwrapping a decadent rich chocolate pudding full of crunchy macadamia nuts, rum and plump raisins. So, we ensure that love and care is instilled in every single pudding we make, with each one hand finished, wrapped in cloth and tied with ribbon, creating the perfect gift to excite and delight the senses.

As a family-owned business for over 40 years, we know a little about tradition, and with our expanding variety of choices, you can create yours with a Pudding Lady treat. Families deserve a pudding for every occasion, whether you are celebrating an anniversary, engagement, faith-based event, birthday or a new home. We think any excuse to gather and enjoy a little indulgence with family is a good one.

It takes a whole community to produce our traditional puddings – farmers, drivers, flour millers, fruit growers, chocolatiers and distillers all working together to ensure our high-quality products are enjoyed by pudding lovers around Australia and the world.

As times have changed, so has our desire to ensure everyone can enjoy the moments shared with pudding. Intolerance and allergies have meant traditional puddings have sadly been out of reach for some. That’s why our range has grown to include sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan pudding varieties.

Hand-packed with our own brandy custard, vanilla and brandy sauce or rich brandy butter, our Pudding Lady gift packs contain the best of Australian produce, ensuring no matter what the occasion, there is pudding to charm the senses.

Q How Many Servings Are In Each Pudding?

100g pudding single serve
350g pudding 1-2 serves
500g pudding 4-5 serves
800g pudding up to 8 serves
1kg pudding up to 10 serves
1.5kg pudding 12-15 serves
2kg pudding 15-20 serves
3kg pudding 20-25 serves
100g = 1 serve approximately

Q How Do I Heat My Pudding?

Our puddings are fully cooked.
To reheat: Microwave: (preferred method). Remove outer cloth and pierce inner bag in 3 places with a fork. Reheat whole pudding on medium power for approx. 60 seconds per 500g or individual slices for approx 20 seconds per 100g. Check during reheating to avoid overheating. This is based on a 1000w microwave. Boiling: Remove outer cloth and immerse vacuum sealed bag in boiling water for approx 30 mins per 500g. Open onto a serving plate with care as contents will be hot.

Q How Do I Serve My Pudding?

Cold – our puddings are fully cooked and extremely moist. Slice it and eat it just like Christmas cake.
Drizzle with Newcastle’s Pudding Lady Brandy Custard Sauce or Brandy Liqueur Sauce and serve with vanilla ice-cream or a dollop of double cream.
Cut the pudding into thin slices and fry them in butter Drizzle over some warmed maple syrup and then finish off with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream

Why not flambe’ your pudding - here’s how:
Place the cooked pudding (whole or sliced) into a serving bowl
Warm the brandy over a low heat in a saucepan until heated through. Watch the brandy carefully as it could ignite spontaneously if heated too long.
Remove the saucepan from the heat
Pour the warmed brandy over the pudding in the serving dish
Hold a lit long-handled match near the brandy-covered pudding until it ignites
Wait for the flames to extinguish when the alcohol burns off and serve the pudding.

Q Do I Need To Prepare My Pudding In Any Way?

Absolutely not. All of our puddings are fully cooked; just heat and serve!

Q How Do I Store My Pudding?

Our puddings are vacuum sealed and can be stored in a cool dry cupboard until the best before date (usually at least 1 year). If you would like to store your pudding longer we suggest that you place it in the deep freeze. Ensure that you thoroughly defrost the pudding completely before heating.

Q When Will I Receive My Pudding?

We will ensure that you receive your order as safely and quickly as possible. We aim to dispatch your order within 1-2 working days. Please Note:
To avoid disappointment in receiving your order before Christmas we suggest that you place your order by 9:00am 16th December AEST
